Features of the MTMT
The MTMT was created to do these core functions:
- Mission Event Sequence List (MESL) Manager
- Data Collection Tool
- Report Generator
- Template Based Data-Entry and Reports Pages to allow customization.
The MTMT was specifically designed for the MIP Community and is geared for Command and Control Information System (C2IS) testing. This tool is designed to allow the Test and Evaluation Working Group (TEWG) to use one tool for every test they may conduct, from System Level Testing (SLT) to Operational Level Testing (OLT) and beyond (the tool will be used in Combined Endeavor 2007).
History of the MTMT
The MTMT started as a web-based tool used for third MIP Block 2 OLT conducted in April 2006 in Greding, Germany. There was a great need to create an integrated MESL (Mission Event Synchronization List) Manager and data collection tool. Previous to this, MS Excel Spreadsheets and MS Access Databases were used for MESL Management and data collection respectively.
The advantages of using a web-based tool were immediately apparent. MS compatitibilty issues were resolved (because we were no longer using MS Office products). The tool can run on any local area network where a web server is running, so access to the world wide web isn't necessary.
The product we used to serve web pages was XAMPP. XAMPP contains an Apache Server with PHP extensions and a MySQL Server. That is all that is required to run this tool. The source code for the tool along with an installation guide can be downloaded for local use: MTMT v.1.0.0.0 ZIP file
